Posing Families

Posing is one of the most challenging skills to master as a portrait photographer. The ability to produce unique poses, time and time again on a variety of backgrounds is what will set you apart from an amateur.  Whether you’re looking for a portfolio building opportunity for your business or you just want to get out and practice posing people to improve your skills for the next time you take photos of your own family, this workshop is for you.

What’s Covered?

How do I keep my photos from looking “too” posed?  What’s the best way to pose a couple with a big difference in height? How do I find unique backgrounds? How do I make a photoshoot fun?

We’ll answer all these questions and more! You’ll begin this workshop with learning how to pose families and then move on to family groupings.

We’ll also cover:

  • How to utilize levels in your photographs,
  • Tips and tricks for working with children,
  • How to pose families without your photographs looking “too posed”

This workshop will be similar to our Photo Walks in structure- we’ll send out information on timing and a meeting place a few days before the event. For this workshop, ALL registrants must have taken Using Your DSLR Camera.
