How Great Photographers Produce Winning Photographs
Anywhere, With Any Camera,
Even Under Challenging Conditions

I would absolutely recommend it. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience
– Tianna Doyle

I’m sure we all know by now that the secret to being an excellent photographer isn’t having a better camera. A high-end camera might help make a great photo better, but it won’t make an ordinary photo into art worthy of anyone’s walls.

Have you tried to improve your photography by reading web sites about the rules of design and composition? Maybe you’ve read a book, or two… or ten. It never seems to really help though does it?

That’s because creative skills are nearly impossible to learn just by observing what someone else has done. If books were effective at teaching these skills for photography there wouldn’t be hundreds of them for sale. Someone would have written a good one, and it would be the gold standard everyone recommends. But it doesn’t work that way…

You have to do it, to learn it.

It was great to be challenged to try new techniques and subjects – to “hash out” new ideas and stretch my imagination.
– Angela Solbak of Sweet Bliss Photography

We’ve created a 5 night, in-depth course for professional photographers and hobbyists looking to learn and practice how to see creatively, and capture the world around them to express exactly the artistic vision they want.

Do you want to capture visually striking photographs that engage the mind, tease the eye? Capture photos people want to look at… and buy?

We teach you the theory, we show you examples, and you do it. You’ll cement your new skills by taking photographs and reviewing them in a structured, positive, and effective way.

Rather than just listening to an instructor and just watching a slide show, you’ll practice and integrate the knowledge into your creative process and improve your photography sooner and in a way that lasts.

In 5 nights you’ll improve your photography
for the rest of your life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would love to take an extension of it if there was one. I will be taking other courses The CPLC offers as a result of the value this one course has added to my experience.
– Tammy Stewart

These are the learned skills that will allow you to take better photographs using any camera wherever you are. Skills to make images that impress, inspire, and sell; even when the subject or conditions might foil less skilled photographers.

You’ll learn the seven elements and the seven principles of design, which you can incorporate to change your photography to be more creative and more impactful.

In this photography class we’ll learn:

  • The power of color to impart emotion and drama
  • How light and shadow play to give photos life
  • The value of empty space
  • How to direct the viewer’s eye where you want it
  • The seven elements and the seven principles of design
  • The rules of composition and framing
  • Established techniques of mining your creativity and working through ‘writer’s block’

I loved the challenge of creating specific themes and emotions but it was work. I took the course to give me some new ideas on how to look at shots.
– Murray Fierheller
